Why install flashing?
Even if an exterior siding – regardless of its material – has no visible holes or places where water can seep in, there will still be water infiltration. In doing so, the flashing and counter flashing are absolutely essential to ensure the waterproofing of the coatings. Prevent unpleasant surprises caused by water infiltration such as crumbling brick, rusty metal and rotting wood.
What is flashing?
Flashing is a metal sheet, usually aluminum or pre-painted steel, used to uniformly join two surfaces of an exterior building. For example, flashing is found at the junction of a roof and a chimney. The flashing plays an extremely important role and must be properly installed to be properly sealed.
